I fell in love with jazz at the age of 14 when the joy of 1960's pop began to wane.   I was soon into the likes of Count Basie and Duke Ellington, but when I first heard the sound of Miles Davis, Charlie Parker and John Coltrane along with singers Billee Holiday plus Ella and their like I was hooked and have stayed that way ever since.

In the past I have done some hospital and community radio and welcome the chance to get behind the mic once more, which will fit well alongside writing for www.jazzviews.net and looking after U3A Jazz at The Verdict Club in Brighton.

Radio is ideal for bringing jazz to everyone, whether they are long term fans or newcomers.  I'll be playing back to back tracks from the masters plus feature pieces and gig news every week.  So, join me, Jim Burlong, each and every Wednesday from 8pm until 10pm for the great sounds of jazz.
